Notches by their nature interrupt continuous, smooth surfaces, and create increased surface area to provide friction for a better grip. JGarrett 'Notches' aims straight for heady dance floor action with three takes on wall shaking techno. 'Notches' takes off from the territory JGarrett explored in last year's 'Extrasolar' combining heavy beats with ethereal elements, but it taking it deeper into heavy rhythm territory. Notch One is a hefty slab of propulsive, shuffled, and precise construction. Notch Two rides the border between shifting and tracky... big drums provide the foundation for oblique lo-fi synths. Dub Notch closes things out with a rock steady bass-driven groove splashed with dubbed out stabs and and deep atmospheres.
