Rising talent T Y returns to Subspec with his sophomore release "Los Grados" on the label and a grand vision spooled out across three marvelously dark tracks of thick groove-laden Techno. 'Los Grados' is a must buy for the DJ looking for versatile grooves that would be at home both in setting the pace for a night and during peak hours at parties. "Los Grados" represents three stages of humanity's development through time. It begins with the grand development and progression of mankind until the process turns inward and results in the domination and the submission of humanity itself. The process culminates with a reflection on the irreversible changes humanity has undergone. Opening track, Supremacy, provides a view on the big men of history. An insistent, reverse groove provides the foundation for evolving textures, which develop into a solid, energetic beat. Concept follows, tracing a biological experiment that results in pandemic. Hypnotic and irresistible, Concept grows like the syndrome it represents. Gruta closes out the EP at the "Gate of Abstract Thoughts." A drum driven exploration of rhythm, the key to Gruta is spatial and temporal disorientation - forward and reversed elements propel the track forward while subtle melodic elements drift in the background. The underlying concepts are expansive, but ultimately, it's about getting that booty moving. T Y's 'Los Grados' achieves both aims. Don't sleep on it!
